Honestly, I'm not much of a sci-fi fan, but P-Rix was very enjoyable to read and play even for someone in my category. Not having a whole bunch of space lore-dumping from the start and the main character being so relatable helped a lot. P-Rix is in my top 3 character list with Yael from CRWL being first and Camille from EC coming third on the list.
The choice system is intuitive enough not to get an instant "Game Over"-like death if you pay attention to what you are reading. It's nice not having to constantly use the mouse/touchpad to click on an option. Playing with buttons is a special feature to have in a game that I've not encountered much in interactive fiction so... thanks.
P.S to other players: You can play P-Rix on a tablet just fine so go and enjoy being a space trucker in trouble🚀😓⏰
This was really good! Well-written, with some exciting „avoid the horrible death” choices (normally not my favourite style of gameplay, but here everything was well communicated – I could actually make informed decisions, and not just randomly click links hoping I wouldn't die). The styling is great – obviously, a lot of effort went into it – and the two-button input worked really well for me!
Obviously, there is more going on with the story that the demo shows. I wonder what the deal is with the mysterious cargo...
I only wish the text area was a bit bigger (I had to scroll a couple of times to read everything, while having a ton of empty space on the screen). I also wasn't a fan of the timed text. It was okay during the diagnostics part (and added some nice realism – again, awesome styling!), but the final, longer bit of conversation really tested my patience (I imagined everyone speaking very, very sloooowly).
And now I'm going to wonder if P-Rix is a distant relative of Stanisław Lem's space pilot Pirx I had to read about in primary school.

The UI comments are noted. I'm looking already into adding settings for all the animation/timed text, and have a more responsive window/text area. Addition of those TBD :P
Glad to learn you enjoy Lem. I think his stuff is well worth reading! And Pirx, though in my opinion not one of his best, has a special place in my heart because of the written assignment we got at school when we were discussing the book. Normally, for things from our reading list, we would have to write an essay about some aspect of the book (short and simple, but it still was boring to us kids). With Pirx, our teacher told us she disliked sci-fi so much she couldn't come up with a topic, and we were told to write any science-fiction short story. Anything with space, rockets or robots would do. That was the first piece of sci-fi I ever wrote, of course strongly inspired by Pirx.
I'm excited to learn there are improvements coming to the game, and I'm waiting for the next part!
Also, I've only realised just now - it's a funny coincidence your trucker's named P-Rix and my game in this jam has a creature called the P-Rex!
P-Rix is a frustrated, minimum-wage trucker who lost their rationality in the face of 0′s offered for a cargo delivery. Something goes wrong with the vehicle’s systems they have to find it and fix it.
For the UI, it was the template previously posted on the author's blog which was used. As always, gorgeous aesthetics creating the needed ambiance for an immersive experience. One of the things I will complain about is the dimensions of the textbox (holding the text we read). When I choose 150% in font size options, there are some pars (at the start) where the first line can only be partially read and in some other parts (example: timed option choosing) one of the options gets “halved” (one word is on one line and the other is on the following line).
And lastly as I read in one of the reviews on IFDB for IFComp
“Death Endings Galore” are waiting for us if we are not careful with what we choose

Replaying P-Rix again and I can't believe I missed the little detail about P-Rix being once at Castea sector. The 0's on the check managed to beat his fear of going there even if only close to its border😂
